LadyDrinks is a leadership development platform for executive women and founders, based in New York City. It is led by long time television anchor Joya Dass.

Event timeline

• 6:00-6:15 PM Guests arrive and check-in
• 6:15-6:30 PM Introduce Mona Panjwani, owner of Lokal. Each woman at the table is introduced
• 6:30-8:00 PM Attendees enjoy a 3-course dinner. Joya moderates a conversation asking each woman to share a recent win, a current challenge, and resources each woman has to share.

Lokal is a recent addition to Jersey City’s revitalized dining scene. Keeping to its namesake, the restaurant incorporates fresh and locally sourced ingredients from the Garden State. The beverage menu boasts an extensive wine and craft cocktail program. Lokal has a large bar area, several private dining spaces and floor to ceiling windows providing panoramic, jaw dropping views of the Manhattan skyline. The spectacular dining space on the Hudson River can accommodate 200 guests (seated) and includes an open-air patio.

In this special workshop, sales coach John Livesay breaks down and analyzes four women owned businesses, their four different sales goals, and how best to reach them.

If you know me a little, you know my brain is always cooking up new event ideas. I was so excited to learn the the Metropolitan Museum of Art had opened up again. My boyfriend and I walked the hallowed halls Monday after Christmas, soaking up every corner of artistic goodness.

I saw this painting by Augustine Cot and thought to myself, there must be dozens of paintings and artifacts in this museum that speak to the theme of love. Why not create a virtual tour of some of the artifacts for Valentine’s Day?

About Margaret Samu

Margaret Samu is a historian of art and design based in New York City. She teaches at Parsons School of Design and gives tours at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Margaret specializes in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and works on the history of collecting. She earned her Ph.D. at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts after receiving her Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College in Art History and French. She has presented lectures and conference papers on her work in Russia, England, the United States, and Canada, and her work has been published internationally.
